Our CPCCo Safeguards, Security & Emergency Service team is seeking a self-starter that excels in a team-oriented environment to serve as a Security Specialist. As a Security Specialist, you will use your interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills to support the Safeguards and Security (SAS) program for CPCCo. Our security mission is to ensure the successful protection of SAS interests and the management and accountability of nuclear materials through oversight, personnel training, and compliance with approved procedures. A day in the life of a Security Specialist may involve:
- Maintain SAS procedures to comply with DOE Orders and Directives.
- Support development and maintain CPCCo Asset Protection Agreements documenting facility security requirements.
- Ensure CPCCo Operations Security (OPSEC) requirements are current and evaluated.
- Derivative Classifier and Public Release authority for CPCCo.
- Support ensuring contract requirements are implemented and flowed down appropriately.
- Interface with Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) security staff and CPCCo project/program personnel to implement SAS requirements.
- Provide support to HMIS in support of Security Risk Assessments and Vulnerability Assessments.
- Provide oversight of the CPCCo access control programs to include lock and key, badges, proximity access, and Trilogy / OMNILOCKs.
- Support the Material Control and Accountability (MC&A) program.
- Support or lead internal assessments of SAS programmatic elements.
- Assist in the corrective action management process and follow-up as required.
- Approval Authority for Foreign National Access Program (FNAP) for CPCCo.
- Support the Security Control Agreement and Foreign Ownership Control and Influence program.
- Support contract modification analyses and provide input.
- Support Management and Human Capital with inquiries and investigations.
- Provide training or briefings to company personnel.
- Write reports, memos, documents, and procedures supporting the mission.
- Minimal off-shift work to support exercises, assessments, and on-call as needed.
- Act as the SAS Manager / Facility Security Officer (FSO) when delegated.
Basic Qualifications
* Senior Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 8 or more years of relevant experience.
- Principal Level Grade 20: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 10 or more years of relevant experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" Clearance. Any offer of employment is contingent on the applicant passing a background investigation. As part of the investigation, Federal investigators will examine many aspects of the applicant's past including financial and criminal histories, mental and emotional health, education and travel, drug and alcohol usage, personal and organizational relationships, as well as other aspects of the applicant's background.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Must be able to complete on-the-job training required for the position.
- Prior work within the professional field(s) supporting implementation of company policy.
- Knowledge of the SAS concepts.
- Knowledge of Spent Nuclear Fuel and Transuranic material.
- Have an existing "L" security clearance.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
- Senior Level Grade 18: $104,175 - $131,425
- Principal Level Grade 20: $126,025 - $158,875
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
