The Research Coordinator will perform daily functions in the Research Ethics Office related to the IRB.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preliminary review of research applications
- Review of revised research applications
- Issuing approvals of research applications upon verification of received revisions
- Responding to applicant questions via email and phone
- Taking minutes at committee meetings
- Assisting with research document and webpage revisions and procedural changes
- Assisting with policy and procedure development
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred: Master’s degree with thesis experience
- Experience with or an understanding of research preparation and procedures (preferred but not required)
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB
Communication and Comprehension- Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to comprehend federal regulations and policies
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information
- Detail oriented
- Well organized and able to multitask
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard
- Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building
