As the Manager of Security of Valleyfair, you'll ensure Security and Safety of all guests and employees while protecting the company assets, revenues and reducing liability.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day activities in the operation of the security department in accordance with Cedar Fair guidelines, ensuring the safety and security of Park associates, guests, and property.
- Maintains an ongoing awareness of corporate initiatives related to Security and coordinates roll out and communication of new programs and policies.
- Manages all aspects of the security department staff to include hiring, training, development, supervising, coaching and scheduling.
- Manages the action plan for the park CCTV and Loss Prevention program while ensuring compliance with federal state and local laws.
- Maintains cooperative working relationships with outside law enforcement, fire and EMS department as well as other regulatory agencies.
- Coordinates all 3rd party security services contracts.
- Works closely with Safety team to ensure that calls in the park are responded to in a timely manner.
- Conducts investigations, ensuring the completion of accurate documentation. Makes recommendations to departments to alter procedures or practices based on information obtained during investigations.
- Responds to and resolves complaints pertaining to security issues or incident reports from associates and guests.
- Coordinates, develops, plans, and participates in park emergency action plans.
- Participates as an active member of the Park’s Operating Manager Program.
- Develops the security department expense and labor budgets.
- Acts as armed security on park operating days when police department personnel are not present.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (4-year College or University) preferred.
- Valid State/Provincial Driver’s License.
- Valid Permit to Carry in the state of MN.
- 5-10 years related experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Familiarity with cameras, access control, and/or other security systems.
- Understanding of law regarding proprietary security.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
