Security Day Shift Supervisor (Hsc)

POSITION: SECURITY DAY SHIFT SUPERVISOR

REPORTS TO: SECURITY SITE MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION:

Leads and performs the administrative and operational duties for all security-related functions associated with an assigned shift.

Provides protection for personnel and company property. May arrange for extra protection for key employees.

Administers and oversees all site security operations during a shift to ensure the safety of HSC personnel, guests, and customers as well as protecting HSC properties from unauthorized access, sabotage, vandalism, or theft.

Maintains a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Serves as the primary site contact for law enforcement agencies when the Security Site Manager is not on-site.

Supports and administers organizational security plans and operations. Maintains the inventory of all security-related equipment and works with Security Site Manager on inventory.

Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures based on policies determined by the Corporate Security Management to meet required codes and regulations.

Assists with the preparation and maintenance of all required security manuals. Maintains records, manuals, and documentation.

Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all Security Supervisor duties and oversees security team members assigned to a shift.

Duties include planning, scheduling, organizing, and directing work, training personnel, and recommending applicants for training opportunities or corrective action.

Trains and enforces approved safety regulations at the worksite.

Ensures the safety of clients, employees, and contractors maintaining confidential information.

Executes procedures and processes to provide physical protection for personnel and company property and meets required codes and regulations.

Ensures Security Team shift priorities are followed based on policies and procedures.

Communicates clearly and effectively with management, employees, clients, partners, and vendors.

Supports and conducts internal investigations in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.

Reviews incident reports for clarity, correctness, and submits for approval.

Organizes and conducts pre-determined actions and renders first aid in emergencies such as accidents, fire, and illness.

Assists with the administration of the operation of all security-related systems.

Ensures that all Security Team members assigned to a shift meet all RMI Grooming and Uniform Standards.

Assists with department responsibilities regarding completion and individual management of purchase orders.

Develops and maintains positive security vendor relationships in the best interest of RMI.

Reviews utilization and maintenance of security equipment on site.

Maintains and recommends changes or improvements in the software recordkeeping system for security team activities.

Recommends to the Security Site Manager ways to improve physical security and/or correct department function.

Has unsupervised direct access to customer equipment and data.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED. Two years of college preferred.

Law-Enforcement and/or Military Schooling is a plus.

Minimum of 3-4 years experience in law enforcement, military security supervision, industrial or governmental security, or an equivalent combination of same which includes: Standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment for the security team.

Occupational hazards and safety rules.

Command of the English language with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal methods.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be physically able to operate a variety of Security equipment such as computers.
• Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle if necessary.
• Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.
• Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to twenty pounds frequently.
• Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for physically active work.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, stand, sit, and walk for at least up to 8 hours in a shift.
• Must be able to climb at least 3 flights of stairs.
• Must be able to actively respond to emergency and non-emergency-related incidents per 8-hour shift.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must carry 'Security' certification from the appropriate state agency.

Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, fast-paced environment shifting priorities.

Must follow PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines as determined for the position.

Must wear RMI security uniform and proper footwear.

Must be able to respond to emergency situations at the data center.

Must work on-site; no telecommuting permitted.

Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license.
