Security Program Supervisor

Job Description/Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Security Programs, the Security Program Supervisor provides coordination and support of the Security Program. As such, the Security Program Supervisor will provide direction and oversight of the following Security Programs at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, Oakland (BCH-Oakland): Security Guard Program and its contract vendor, the Guest Services Ambassador Program, and the Badging Program. Duties include, but are not limited to, the training, monitoring and supervision of any program employees.

People Leadership Responsibilities:

• This role serves as a leader within a functional or operational area and directly manages a team of professional and/or administrative jobs.
• Leads/participates in the selection and hiring of new employees.
• Understands performance standards and assures that each employee is informed of expectations.
• Conduct timely formal performance appraisal of direct report employees.
• Delegates responsibility and authority appropriately.

Financial Responsibilities:

• Provides input to the program budget.
• Collaborates with senior colleagues in the development of the program budget and assists in the maintenance of budget operations

Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of access controls computer systems and data collection software related to security performance and effectiveness.

Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D. and/or equivalent experience/training.

Minimum Experience:

• 2 years of experience working in a security related field.
• 3 years of experience in a customer service role with a minimum of 1 year serving in a supervising or managing position.

Certification Required:

• IAHSS Basic Certificate.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Instructor.
