ADV is seeking a Security Cooperation Strategic Communications Program Manager to support the Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs?(SAF/IA). Their mission is to advance US national security by cultivating deep, enduring relationships through Security Cooperation with our Allies and Partners in support of US Air Force and US Space Force global operations. The Security Cooperation Strategic Communications Program Manager will manage a rapidly changing global environment which requires effective communication with international partners, the US Government Interagency, US Industry, and Non-Governmental Organizations. To that end, SAF/IA needs a comprehensive Strategic Communications Program that will shape the international air force environment and drive international affairs activities to achieve strategic objectives.
Location is Pentagon, Washington D.C., JB Bolling-Anacostia and/or via Government approved telework arrangement.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Develop, execute and assess an effective Strategic Communications Program for SAF/IA. Additionally, assist SAF/IA and the USAF in communicating the best message, through the right channels, measured against well-considered organizational and communications-specific goals.
- Develop Strategic Communications Plans that draw upon and aligns SAF/IA, USAF, DoD, US Security Cooperation objectives as well as international partner perspectives.
- Review senior Air Fore officials' speeches to ensure consistency with the SAFIIA Strategic Communications plan.
- Develop focused USAF Security Cooperation messaging themes.
- Prepare/coach senior SAF/IA leaders for speaking engagements; assess senior SAF/IA leaders for their speaking performance and provide professional/candid/constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure effective coordination of SAF/IA participation in all strategic communication events and fora, including coordination with event/venue point of contact, protocol personnel, etc.
- Ensure Strategic Communications materials and messaging themes are tailored to the current and relevant international affairs issues.?
Required Qualifications
- Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance/NATO Secret, US citizenship
- Education: Master's degree with a desired emphasis in a Strategic Communications curriculum
Years' experience:
- Seven (7) plus years experience in Enterprise-level Strategic Communications.
Four (4) plus years experience in three (3) or more of the following:
- Public Relations
- Public Affairs
- Public Diplomacy
- Senior Executive-level Speech Writing
Two (2) plus years experience in the following:
- Security Cooperation
- Journalism
- Audio & Video Production
- Event Planning
Knowledge and general understanding of the following areas:
- USAF roles and missions.
- Security cooperation, international affairs, security assistance, foreign military sales to include the processes, legislation and players.
- SAF/IA's role within as well as the relationship towards the Security Cooperation community.
- DoD experience in foreign military sales or international affairs.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with USAF Handbook 33-337, Tongue and Quill
- Prior experience on General Officer/Flag Officer staff.
