Ensure efficient operation of Child Nutrition department with knowledge of management skills and techniques related to the position. Knowledge of finances and accounting and the ability to understand and plan accountable procedures. Ability to communicate and work with a diversity of groups and individuals. Ability to plan, direct, and oversee a program of Food Service which meets the nutrition needs of the students and staff. Must be able to communicate and coordinate with distributors, suppliers, maintenance personnel and other vendors for deliveries, repairs, and installations. Must have ability to produce accurate reports and maintain a filing system. Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast paced, highly intensive work environment.

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to perform a variety of tasks often changing assignment on short notice
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Previous experience in Food Service industry or secretary experience preferred.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage routine coordination of the CNP office
- Processing purchase orders, process invoices, and process accounts payable and
accounts receivable for the Child Nutrition Program
- Maintains payroll reconciliation
- Manage data entry and child nutrition database using software program
- Process all meal benefit applications in accordance with TDA regulations
- Checks commodity inventories and maintains records of commodities used
- Preparation of workshop materials, handouts, and other training assignments
- Assist with grant writing and claims for reimbursement.
- Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Child Nutrition Director
