Overview:
Invicro is seeking a full-time laboratory radiochemist. All levels of individuals trained in chemistry are encouraged to apply. Industry general chemistry experience or any radiochemistry experience are preferred. This role will be focused on radioisotope labeling of various small and large molecules and related analytical techniques to evaluate the labeled products. The radiolabeled molecules will be provided to imaging lab teammates who will carry out PET and SPECT imaging, ex vivo gamma counting, and/or radiotherapeutic efficacy and tolerability studies in research mice and rats.
The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in radiochemistry, organic synthesis, product purification and analytical chemistry. Candidates without prior radiochemistry experience should have a strong desire to learn radiochemistry and operation of analytical equipment (training will be provided if necessary). The candidate should be able to work independently with remote support where necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Responsibility for production of radiotracers for PET, SPECT, gamma counting, and radiotherapeutic efficacy and tolerability studies spanning many different isotopes.
- With limited supervision, develop and optimize methods to label various types of compounds with radioisotopes and analyze results toward supporting in vivo administration in rodents
- Operation and maintenance of radioisotope inventory and chemistry equipment including HPLCs
- Communication with sponsors regarding needs, results, and chemistry troubleshooting
- Lab maintenance and support for ordering and receipt of needed supplies
- Maintain clear and accurate records
- Interpret data, recognize aberrant results and propose explanations and next steps
- Summarize data for reports, papers, and presentations
- Training and oversight of junior staff
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in chemistry with 3+ years lab experience or M.S. in chemistry with 5-6 years lab experience
- Knowledge and/or experience with chemistry, including organic synthesis, purification, and formulation
- Knowledge of radiochemistry
- Familiarity with PET and SPECT imaging desired
- Highly motivated, open, clear communicator who is flexible and able to adapt in a fast paced, dynamic research environment
- Ability to multi-task different projects and manage time effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that can reach audience of different skill levels
