Job description

We are looking for a Scientific Coordinator to join our team!

This role provides core support to coordinating scientific activities between sponsors and CPC, advancing scientific output and academic productivity, as well as support for the Executive Director in core functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Scientific Support
    • Coordinate and manage interactions with key external parties in the context of project development and proposal creation.
    • Support the CPC team with content and knowledge around scientific proposals and submissions.
    • Support the Executive Director with slide and content creation for key scientific meetings.
    • Contribute to academic and CPC social media and public relations posts.
    • Support CPC Leadership meetings in terms of organization, agendas, and content.

  • Academic Support
    • Maintain and manage ongoing academic writing projects to facilitate timely and high-quality content and submission.
    • Provide editorial and writing support for CPC projects.
    • Manage manuscript and presentation submissions.

  • Executive Director Support
    • Act as the point of contact between the Executive Director and internal/ external stakeholders.
    • Manage and coordinate calendars for Executive Director including clinical, academic, and organizational across all roles.
    • Manage communications regarding Executive Director's professional relationships including: University relations, sponsor relations, regulatory and government agencies, and communications for University clinical and administrative activities.
    • Coordinate and assist the Executive Director with professional travel arrangements and submit appropriate paperwork for reimbursement.
    • Monitor and manage all professional credentialing, accreditation, and licensing renewals and appointments.
    • Manage timelines and submission for abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations.
    • Provide editorial support for abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations including co-author edits, references, and figures.
    • Perform general administrative tasks such as document preparation, filing, copying, scanning, and faxing.
    • If needed, attend key project and leadership meetings in support of the Executive Director including understanding and responding to questions, taking key notes and helping action a response with the Executive Director.
    • Understand data privacy (e.g. PHI, CPC confidentiality, personal data) and maintain all information in strict confidence.

  • Board of Directors Support
    • Provide expert level support pertaining to the Board of Directors and CPC organization structure, rules and requirements.
    • Function as the primary lead for communications, meeting organization, logistics, meeting minutes, resolutions, and other support of the Board of Directors.
    • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree with preference for Masters and PhD
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in academic/clinical research roles
  • Experience in the academic and/or research domains
  • Exemplary work ethic, sound judgement and ability to maintain professional demeaner in all circumstances
  • Ability to independently prioritize requests and proactively respond with updates
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong writing and editorial skills
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and problem solving skills
  • Excellent planning and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced computer skills and experience with EndNote and MS Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Core understanding of presentation and manuscript creation, citations, and submissions
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Ability to work as a member of a team

Note:Viable applicants will be required to pass a background and education verification check.

In-Office Presence: 100%


Targeted Compensation:$25.48/hr - $33.65/hr

The Colorado Prevention Center (CPC) is an independent non-profit that is affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. It is an Academic Research Organization which performs all of the clinical research activities that a Contract Research Organization (CRO) would perform, but with goals of leading cutting-edge research and cultivating the next generation of academic clinician scientists rather than profit generation.

CPC offers full service clinical trial design, oversight, and management with rapid access to Key Opinion Leaders in a variety of therapeutic areas. With over 30 years of experience, CPC has provided services to over 150 clinical trials in a variety of indications, with an emphasis on cardiovascular, wound healing, diabetes and more.

CPC has expertise in managing clinical trials from a variety of funding sources including Industry, NIH, and Investigator Initiated trials.
