School Psychologist Intern Position
Location: District Wide
In Keeneyville ESD 20 we emphasize the skills needed to be a successful School Psychologist, including problem solving and team-based abilities, assessment and consultation skills, data management and administrative competencies, prevention & mental health services, MTSS and inclusive practices, crisis management, as well as the full spectrum of special education services.
Interns will be engaged in a wide variety of activities including problem solving, school psychological assessment, functional behavioral assessments & behavioral interventions, teacher/staff consultations, crisis prevention & intervention, educational and transition planning, professional development, and direct student services (e.g., skill groups, counseling, etc.).
Experiences will encompass one middle school, two elementary schools, and the district's early childhood center. All duties to be performed in accordance with both federal law and state statute, Illinois State Board of Education policies and procedures, and Keeneyville ESD 20 Board policy. ESD 20 offers an internship site committed to the training of future School Psychologists
Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in an Illinois State Board of Education approved School Psychology graduate training program, and released by the university for participation in the internship experience.
• Must be currently enrolled in, or have completed a school psychology practicum and working towards a Masters, Educational Specialist, or Ph.D./Ed.D./Psy.D. in school psychology at an accredited National Association of School Psychologists (NASP-) approved university.
• Must be pursuing an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist endorsement and eligible to receive licensure at internship completion.
