Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (10 hours per week) Student Clerical position for the the School of Nutrition and Public Health at Oregon State University (OSU).
This position exists to assist with preparing manuscripts, PowerPoint slides, grant proposals, and other electronically written/presented media.
Position Duties
100% - Assist, through live dictation, word processing of correspondence, manuscripts, grant proposals, course materials, in the preparation of PowerPoint slides for scientific presentations and literature searches using PubMed and Google Scholar.

- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
- Experienced and highly proficient in Mac OS and use of Microsoft Word
- Experience with PubMed and Google Scholar
- Knowledge and Experience with PowerPoint
- Typing speed of 60-100 words per minute
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
- Background in Public Health/Health Promotion and Health Behavior
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
- For spring term, this position will work 4 hours per week. Starting summer term it will change to 10 hours per week. This position will overlap with the current student scribe during spring term to get necessary training.
