Job Description
Primary Hall is seeking strong candidates to fulfill support roles that will help to ensure our students' academic and personal success. Working collaboratively with School Leadership, the School Clerk will perform varied clerical tasks, maintain and manage the front office on a daily basis, will be responsible for communicating with families, manage school-wide communications, helping to maintain operational functions, purchasing, and school attendance and the Student Information System (eSchool) to ensure teachers and students have what they need to reach our goal of student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interfaces with families during recruitment/school hosted events
- May be required to open the school doors for callers to enter the building
- Maintaining an organized, highly detailed account of all invoices, receipts, and transactions
- Completing registration documentation for enrolling families
- Creating and Responding to Records Requests for incoming and transitioning students
- Receives, counts, and may deposit all monies that pass through the office
- Receives invoices, and codes for billing functions
- Monitor petty cash receipts and documentation
- Maintain and inventory supplies
- Composes and types original written communications
- Create a welcoming front office environment for students and families
- Manage paperwork and tracking of all absences, tardies, and early dismissals
- Monitor the front desk and main school phone line
- Manage the student file system
- Support in maintaining the school's student information system (eSchool)
- Print weekly communication to families and distribute to classroom teachers
- Maintain the Executive Director's calendar
- May be required to take charge of the administrative office when school is not in session
- Assists with schoolwide transitions and routines (arrival, dismissal, community meetings, school-wide transitions, emergency evacuations, etc.)
- Support with Special Events (field trips, report card nights, fundraising events, performances, staff events, graduations, etc.)
- Performs related duties as assigned

- School-based experience highly preferred
- Proficiency in a second language preferred but not required (Spanish, Arabic, Somali, Karen, Burmese)
- Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of and experience in word processing and machines typically found in an office (Fax, Copier, Postage, etc.)
- NYS Notary preferred, but not required
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
Salary & Benefits:
Primary Hall offers a competitive salary of $40,000 - $45,000 and health benefits and is committed to providing professional development opportunities and the equipment necessary to perform well in the role. The final offer will be made based on relevant experience.
