Scholarship Program Assistant

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:

Think Small, Minnesota’s leader in early learning, is dedicated to advancing early childhood care and education. We are still committed to the principles that gave rise to our organization 50 years ago - that the quality of a child's early experiences greatly influences his or her success later in life and that there is much that can be done to improve the quality of early childhood settings to optimize a child's development.

This position provides support to the Hennepin County Early Childhood Scholarship teams to ensure administrative and program support needs for the Scholarship Program are met in a timely and efficient manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process and enter scholarship applications, referrals and enrollments
• Create database profiles and files for participating families and providers
• Conduct weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly data checks or as directed by Team Leader
• Pull spending information upon request
• Respond to inquiries from case workers and early childhood providers
• Create and send letters to awarded families and providers
• Create and send non-renewal letters to providers
• Stay up to date with department messaging and procedures
• Follow up with providers on attendance and missing enrollment forms
• Perform all job duties to department expectations and standards

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have High School Diploma/ GED OR
• AA degree in Early Childhood, Human Resources, business or related field preferred OR
• 1 year experience with data entry/ management and some basic math functions
• Strong customer service skills, attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as in a group environment
• Proficient in Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook, and more)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The position is available immediately.

Work Schedule: M-F

Work Hours: 9am-5pm

Estimated wage hiring range: $17.27 to $20.00 per hour
