The Occupational Therapy Assistant Program (OTA-Online) at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full time predominantly remote 12 month Assistant Professor/ Program Director.
Applications are welcome from candidates residing in, or willing to relocate to, one of the following states: AR, CA, CO, DE, FL, IL, IN, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, NC, NY, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, DC, or WI.The University of St. Catherine launched the first online Occupational Therapy Assistant program in the country and we continue to lead the field in innovation! Our online program launched in 2014 to address the rising need for professional OTAs throughout the nation. We reach students where they are and give them access to education toward a career that can change their lives. The Assistant Professor/ Program Director is responsible for all aspects of management and administration of the program, including planning, evaluation, budgeting, selection of faculty and staff, maintenance of accreditation, and commitment to strategies for professional development for the OTA-Online. The Program Director must demonstrate commitment to the mission of the University and foster an atmosphere that abides by AOTA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Responsibilities:
  • Position manages multiple levels of personnel (faculty, adjunct faculty, lab instructors, and staff positions) to reach students in four regions across the country.
  • Program Planning and Evaluation (establish and renew program policies, maintain a system of program evaluation, prepare annual reports for accreditation and the university, oversee the strategic plan).
  • Curriculum Oversight including development, maintenance, and evaluation of the curriculum design, fieldwork processes, and curriculum evaluation.
  • Develop, administer, and manage program budgets for personnel, equipment, supplies, consultants, travel, accreditation, and program endowed funds.
  • Monitor and enforce University and department position descriptions, policies, and procedures for faculty and maintain program faculty records.
  • Assign teaching responsibilities.
  • Advocate to the University for the needs of the OTA program, students, and faculty and facilitate cooperative faculty efforts across academic programs.
  • Gather, maintain, and provide records of evidence to support accreditation reporting.
  • Support and encourage the growth and high performance in teaching, research, and professional activities among faculty.
  • Evaluate faculty members for annual performance reviews and university evaluations including promotion and tenure.
  • Develops and carries out scholarly activities in collaboration with faculty, students, and the community in an area of interest aligned with the departmental strategic plan.
  • Engages in professional practice activities that strengthen expertise and enhances ability to fulfill responsibilities as a faculty member.
  • Teaches, evaluates, and revises course content to reflect evidence-based practice and most current knowledge in the field.
  • Carries out excellence in teaching and advising with a diverse student population.
  • Develops and demonstrates learner-centered strategies.
  • Collaborates with other faculty to teach in areas of content expertise.
  • Adheres to the defined grading procedures and standards in accordance with the grading policies of the University.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy. This experience must include:
    • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
    • Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.
    • Scholarship (e.g., scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning).
    • Understanding of and experience with occupational therapy assistants.
    • At least 2 years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level.
  • Must be licensed in the state of residence, eligible for licensure in California and Minnesota, current NBCOT registration, and a member of AOTA.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Management and leadership experience.
