RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for a Scheduling and Insurance Specialistto join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Scheduling and Insurance Specialist, you will schedule and interview patients and record necessary information applicable to type of examination. Document personal information and verifies patient insurance benefits to ensure proper payment of services. This position is full-time, working 8:00am - 4:30pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(50%) Scheduling
- Answers phones and handles calls in a professional and timely manner
- Maintains positive interactions at all times with patients, referring offices and staff
- Schedules patient examinations according to existing company policy
- Ensures all appropriate personal, financial and Insurance information is obtained and recorded accurately
- Daily responsibility for calling and scheduling as many patients for whom the Company currently has orders
- Communicates to technologists any scheduling changes in order to ensure highest patient satisfaction
- Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
- Obtains and enters new referring physician information in computer system data base and passes along to marketing for follow up
- Understands how and when to roll phones on and off answering service
- Alerts other clinics of phone problems that are passed along to your clinic
- Handles overflow calls for other centers within market to ensure uninterrupted exam scheduling for referring offices
(45%) Insurance
- Determines if patient's insurance is a part of the provider network
- Makes outgoing calls to insurance companies for pre-certification or any authorization
- Receives pre-authorization from patients and/or insurance companies and documents
- Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains prior authorization (if required) by contractual or non-contractual agencies or insurance carriers
- Contacts patient using HIPAA guidelines prior to scheduled exam when additional insurance information is needed
(5%) Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years in a customer service role in a medical office setting
- Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Must be able to handle multi-level phone system with a high volume of calls at one time
- Proficient with using computer systems and typing
Preferred:
- Associate's degree in health care or related field
- Bilingual
