This role is responsible for the underwriting of SBA guaranteed loan requests within MidWestOne Bank. This will include the spreading of financial statements, analyzing financials of the borrower and guarantors, and collateral analysis among other items following the guidelines as established by the SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Assess credit risk pertaining to requests for new or renewals of existing loans to new or existing customers, primarily through the analysis of financial statements, credit history and collateral documentation.
- Analysis of SBA guaranteed loans will follow guidance as established in SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Prepare loan presentations for use by lending officers, credit approvers or committees to make lending decisions on new and/or renewal credit approvals.
- Prepare annual credit reviews (ACR) for existing commercial and ag customers. The review to include the financial analysis of financial statements, tax returns. Analysis should include changes that have occurred since the previous review.
- Complete vendor due diligence and/or secondary market investor analysis under the direction of the VP, Credit Administration.
- Spread financial statements within the bank’s commercial credit analysis software to track trends and financial ratios.
- Analyze management and industry trends to properly identify risks in specific credit requests.
- Manage the review process for covenant compliance and borrowing base certificates on an ongoing basis. Work with lender, front line staff and assigned credit officer on any issues uncovered.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of post high school education and related work experience
- In addition to education in the field of business or finance, prefer 1-3 years of experience in a Credit Analyst related role.
- Experience with credit analysis technology or other credit analysis platforms or a combination of education and experience preferred.
- Banking or financial institution experience is preferred.
