The Core Systems Operations Analyst I oversees the day-to day operations and provides administrative support for the Core Systems used by the credit union. This position serves as the technical support for Veridian Core Systems. In addition to being the support contact, the position is responsible for vendor communication, trouble-shooting, and coordinating the installation of applications, upgrades, and software updates as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments for interface testing and coordinate installation and execution of new applications, as well as conversions and upgrades.
  • Key contact for vendor partner technicians surrounding upgrades and new implementations/integrations related to core operations.
  • Serves as escalation resource for subject matter experts in other areas and acts as a contact for any core operations issues reported by users. Analyze and document issues, recommend solutions, and coordinate communications.
  • Create excellent service experiences that promote the Veridian brand.
  • Build and prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports and member notices/statements. This includes reports and data packages required to update third party vendors and systems.
  • Perform Core Systems upgrades and configure webserver infrastructure as needed. This includes installation, testing, deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with MIS staff and project leads to implement and maintain third-party interfaces in relation to the core. This includes software upgrades, testing, documentation and performance monitoring.
  • Responsible for installations and updates for all test systems in order to maintain relevant copies of our live software and/or database.
  • Partner with DBAs and System Administrators to ensure the Core Systems databases and SAF servers are maintained and performing at peak levels.
  • Maintain archives of computer reports, member statements and notifications, and preparing backups of managed computer systems.
  • Serves as back up to the Core Systems Operations Analyst II in creating, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting processes managed by the enterprise workload automation solution.
  • Conduct identified SQL queries on the core database to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Participate and assist in the coordination of IT disaster recovery preparation and planning.
  • Support department members on special projects and in analyzing user needs/requests in order to recommend solutions.
  • Responsible for correction of any software issues related to the Core Systems before, during, and after business hours. Lead contact for service technicians and/or vendor programmers as needed.
  • Detect, troubleshoot, resolve and escalate incidents and issues in a timely manner. Track and follow issues through escalation, including communication to all stakeholders.
  • On call availability required for system support as needed (includes nights and weekends). This position is included in a weekly on call rotation.
  • Contribute positively to team effort by consistently achieving established goals and expectations.
  • Provide support to Core system users as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
  • Occasionally lift and/or move items over 10 pounds.
  • Remain sedentary (seated) for extended periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

TRAVEL

Limited travel expected.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience of 8+ years.
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience in IT operations and/or a financial institution.
  • Fluent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Proficiency in DNA/CCM Core Systems.
  • Proficiency in automated job scheduling tools, such as OpCon.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL and Oracle queries.
