Summary:

As a Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our wind turbine and wind farm projects. You will work closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise and support throughout the sales process, from pre-acquisition to handover to the Project Management team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the technical validity of proposals and contracts while building strong customer relationships and helping to win new projects.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responding to technical queries from customers and Sales Managers
  • Preparing technical replies for sales offers/tenders and deviation lists
  • Managing the technical review and coordinating internal technical departments
  • Acting as the first point of contact for customers relating to technical questions in the sales process
  • Participating in client meetings to clarify and negotiate the technical scope
  • Preparing and negotiating Turbine Supply Agreements, owning all of the technical contract exhibits
  • Supporting the development and optimization of technical solutions and selling the project from a technological perspective
  • Identifying and compiling technical market requirements and trends
  • Standardizing and continuously developing and improving the technical sales process
  • Arranging confidentiality agreements and exchanging information with external consultants/suppliers
  • Assisting in the preparation of Gate 2/3 and the technical risk analysis
  • Preparing technical Hand Over to Project Management team
  • Traveling to project sites and customer meetings as required 25%

 

Requirements:

  • Energy production/distribution knowledge
  • Knowledge of alternative energy solutions and regulatory framework
  • Competence in MS Office applications
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • High integrity and motivation
  • Understanding of intercultural issues in communication
  • Proactive and result-oriented approach with strategic and analytical skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly
  • Willingness and ability to learn, self-manage, and keep abreast of changing technical and regulatory issues independently
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and 5-7 years of relevant Sales Engineering experience.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required and possess a valid driver's license with no restrictions.

 

The pay for this role is exempt at $85k - $105k annually with up to a 10% bonus.  Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
