Looking for the right someone to become part of the BASCA Bargain Boutique team as a Part-Time Sales Clerk/Sorter! Hourly rate is $13.00 an hour.
Job Description
BASCA's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental differences in Northeast Florida. The BASCA Bargain Boutique supports the BASCA mission by selling gently used donated merchandise. The position is primary responsible for providing excellent customer service and processing transactions at the BASCA Bargain Boutique.
Duties Include:
- Handle sales transactions with customers, Issue receipts, change, and refunds as necessary.
- Make sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new ones.
- Keep reports of transactions.
- Processing donations as they come in.
- Assist with resolving customer complaints, guide them to management when necessary and provide relevant information.
- Assisting in all areas of the Store, as needed, including: accepting and processing donations, cleaning and stocking merchandise, and researching items for pricing.
- Interacting with the public including taking donations and assisting customers.
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
- Bag, box or wrap packages.
- Must be able to bend, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Store Hours: Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm; closed Sundays.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Customer Service – able to personally provide high level of interactive service to targeted customer base/market, building relationships and acting as external organization advocate.
· Team Orientation & Interpersonal – must be a highly motivated, passionate, and creative team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization.
· Communication – able to effectively and persuasively express self verbally and in writing, using correct language and grammar in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner.
· Organization & Time Management – able to work independently with minimal supervision while planning, scheduling and organizing professional schedule to complete actions within established deadlines; able to handling multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
Qualifications:
· Basic knowledge and familiarity with cash register and credit card machine.
· Strong communication and time management skills
· Customer satisfaction-oriented
· Attention to detail and mathematical skills
· Sales skills
· Ability to lift and move heavy objects (i.e. furniture) – minimum 50lbs.
