Job Summary
We are a retail shop located at Palmer Square in Princeton, NJ selling Japanese tableware & gifts - we were awarded Best Tableware in Philadelphia Magazine's Best of Philly ® 2018 and Town Topics Best Gift Store 2019, 2021, 2022.
We are looking for a part time Sales Assistant responsible for helping with customer service, sales, and general store operations. Hours for this position are Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Responsibilities and Duties
- provide excellent customer service
- general merchandising duties - straightening up, keeping store clean (sweeping/mopping when necessary), dusting.
- inventory management - assist with checking stock daily, restocking when necessary
- open and close shifts; manage cash
- excellent communications skills
- social media posts for our instagram/facebook accounts
Qualifications and Skills
- sales experience is helpful
- can do some light lifting (up to 40 lbs); able to carry items up and down stairs to basement storage room
- comfortable with computers/ipad
- positive and friendly
- responsible & trustworthy
- prompt, reliable & organized
- can work independently
- flexible if necessary on hours
- knowledge of japanese food/culture is a plus
