The Work You Will Do:
DEP's Office of Safety and Loss Control is currently seeking a Safety Specialist Titles II and III ADA Coordinator. This position is under the Division of Administrative Services.

Pay:
The annual salary for this position will be $53,500 per year.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Titles II and III of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Coordinator - Responsible for promoting accessibility and inclusion for the Department by making well informed policy recommendations which are supported by ongoing research related to applicable laws, regulations, standards and guidelines. Prioritizes corrective actions to meet compliance and resolving access issues for Florida State Park natural areas, cultural resources, at park facilities, Resilience and Coastal protection and other department owned buildings and property and ensure facilities, programs and services are accessible to, and usable, by all people, including those with unique abilities in a safe manner. Reviews construction plans to ensure they will be able to meet access requirements. Promote accessibility, inclusion and safety awareness and education by developing, implementing and evaluating training resources and activities. Provides guidance on the agency's ADA Transition Plans.
Safety - Reviews incident reports and incident investigations for accuracy and trends. Conducts safety inspections, safety analysis processes and operational safety reviews.
Training - Develops and conducts training in health and safety topics including, but not limited to, job safety analyses, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and building emergency plans. Assists with Floor Warden meetings and training as necessary.
Budget - Manages the annual safety budget; ensuring all funds are properly spent and coordinates with the Safety Officer to approve all spending requests.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication; time management best practices; and safety program techniques. Ability to: utilize problem solving techniques and apply critical thinking skills; establish and maintain effective working relationships; work independently; effectively assist and serve as a backup; plan, organize work assignments; assist across the chains of command; collect, organize, evaluate and analyze data; meet deadlines: manage programs and deliver results based on project goals; knowledge of health, safety and security matters in state government and understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; maintain a valid driver license; travel when required: coordinate/facilitate necessary trainings for Division staff.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent, and three years of verifiable related work experience.
Other Job-Related Requirements for this position:
Valid Driver License. Travel (up to 25% of the job).
