Vested HR Solutions, LLC (“VHR”) is a Professional Employer Organization (“PEO”) headquartered in Palm Harbor, Florida and currently serving clients nationwide. VHR provides a suite of business solutions to clients through the PEO business model. Services include a cloud-based HR software and services platform, payroll, sponsored health and welfare benefits, workers compensation coverage and risk management among other services.
POSITION SUMMARY
Director of Risk Management reports directly to the VP of Legal and Compliance and provides loss control services to clients located within a defined region. The primary responsibilities of this position are to fulfill the workers’ compensation risk services requirements set forth in our Client Service Agreement with clients and to reduce the financial loss in our workers’ compensation program by recommending hazard/exposure controls, assisting with the client’s implementation of safety programs, and providing safety awareness training. Territory will be concentrated in Florida, but with some responsibility for clients in other states as directed by the VP of Legal and Compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Responsibility to provide risk assessments to underwriting for new clients or new lines of business for existing clients.
- Conduct onsite safety surveys and client interviews to determine hazards and exposures associated with the clients’ business.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of clients controls of the hazards and exposures associated with the clients’ operations.
- Assist client in the development of their safety program.
- Submit written recommendations to the clients suggesting effective controls of hazards and exposures.
- Coordinate claim management with claims management personnel.
- Provide safety training to clients.
- Assist in development of loss control level guidelines and document the results of all clients’ onsite inspections in accordance with the loss control level guidelines.
- Provide client training, including “train the trainer”, on applicable OSHA regulations and requirements for compliance with the OSHA regulations.
- Perform accident investigations on client reported accidents, review all accident claim reports and serve as a liaison to the client representatives for claim handing follow up.
- Will participate in special projects assigned by the VP of Legal and Compliance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITITES
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, carriers, and associates at all levels of responsibility is essential.
- Understanding of professional and industry standards and practices.
- Solid technical ability to identify, create and present data critical to loss control activities.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic; able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- OSHA 500 and 501 and a university designated safety certificate or equivalent work experience as deemed by the VP of Legal and Compliance.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in safety and health.
- Previous Professional Employer Organization Experience a plus.
