- Identifies hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee and subcontractor activities through safety management and communications with project personnel.
- Researches/reviews and recommends appropriate controls. Ensures that recommended corrective actions are completed.
- Advises managers on safety issues and activities necessary to ensure compliance with corporate, project, client standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepares, reviews and approves Health and Safety plans for new projects for assigned unit and region.
- May be assigned to large, moderately to highly complex projects.
- Conducts subcontractor reviews to determine their ability and suitability for projects. Reviews subcontractor and contractor H&S submittals.
- Supports corporate program by developing employee and craft safety orientation training programs.
- Reports, investigates, and documents accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities. Conducts or reviews property damage and personal injury reports or investigations.
- Follow up on corrective actions.
- Administers H&S Program Elements as assigned. i.e. Training, Medical Surveillance, Security, Good Catch, Third Party Prequalification Programs, etc.
- Assists in worker’s compensation case and injury management. Conducts/Supervises work area surveillance inspections and air sampling tests for assigned unit and region.
- Oversees, develops and conducts corporate safety audits and participates in third party compliance audits of corporate programs.
- Reviews documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted per established procedures. Implement appropriate corrective action as required.
- Accompanies key health, safety, and insurance inspectors on walk‐through tours.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Certifications may be required depending on federal, state, local or contract requirements. 5 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
