Job Description
We are currently seeking a Safety Manager for a reputable Commercial General Construction company in the Dallas (DFW), TX area. The Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's safety program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a thorough gap analysis of the safety program to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures aimed at achieving zero accidents.
- Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Collaborate with field personnel to provide training and education on safety procedures.
- Design and deliver training programs for both existing and new safety policies and procedures.
- Investigate accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement necessary changes to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare, review, and update project-specific safety plans and job hazard analyses as required.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accident reports and investigations.
- Act as an advocate for the company's safety program, promoting safety as a core value of the organization.
- Provide regular reports to management as needed.
- Perform any additional duties or responsibilities as directed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in safety management, construction management, or related field OR Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) designation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety program development and training.
- OSHA 500/OSHA 30 certification.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards CFR 1926, General Industry Standards CFR 1910, and best management practices.
- Familiarity with typical construction processes.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Viewpoint, SharePoint, and MS Office.
- Strong technical writing skills for developing policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
- Capability to walk job sites, climb stairs and/or ladders, and withstand extreme weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must be local to the Dallas (DFW), TX area.
- Must be authorized to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
