Responsibilities:
- Supervise personnel on the projects and enforce company & project site-specific safety procedures
- Ensure crew follows safe work practices, including wearing personal protective equipment and safety devices
- Conduct comprehensive safety assessments (i.e., fall protection, scaffolds, excavation, confined space, crane/equipment operations, electrical, property damage and personal injury investigations)
- Document safety violations or unsafe conditions/activities and ensure corrective measures are immediately implemented
- Confirm compliance with contractual safety obligations
- Review documentation to ensure all required records, owner requirements and reports are established by MES and subcontractors
- Accompany third party and owner inspections on walking tours of the project
- Implementation and administration of project accident prevention plans, and applicable safety standards
- Conduct indoctrination to new subcontractors assigned to the project
- Communicate and collaborate daily with project management teams and subcontractors
- Conduct daily safety inspections with the emphasis on continued improvement and best practices
- Investigate all injury and property damage incident and accidents
- Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for work activities as identified in the project specifications
- Conduct weekly safety meetings to cover safety topics pertaining to the projects or specific work activity
- Issue safety violation write-ups to employees as warranted
- Participate and assist in emergency planning and evaluations
- Ensure safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) is in good working condition
- Maintains professional certifications and current knowledge of all safety laws, standards, and regulations
- Provide additional training on the site when needed
- Perform additional assignments as needed
Qualifications :
- Electrical Journeyman License
- 5 years work experience in construction safety
- First Aid/CPR Certified
- OSHA 30 or 500 Certificate
- Computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
- Competent person – fall protection, confined space, excavation, scaffolding
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work successfully with a diverse range of people
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Good verbal and written skills to communicate effectively
- Ability to resolve safety concerns on the project
- Understanding of safety and health laws, regulations and OSHA standards
- Flexible hours to meet the needs of the project
- Valid driver’s license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
