Job Description
We are seeking a Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of safety within our manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a culture of safety among employees. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular inspections, and providing training to staff to minimize workplace hazards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the facility to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Provide safety training to employees on topics such as emergency response, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment usage.
- Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with department managers to address safety concerns and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a safety management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate employees.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.
