The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining KVAL’s safety training program to educate employees on work safety and accident prevention regulations and procedures. This role will ensure compliance with manufacturing safety standards and promote a safe, incident-free work environment for KVAL employees.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture, helping KVAL create and maintain a behavior-driven safety program.
- Administer employee training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous conditions, proper use of equipment, proper use of PPE and department specific safety training.
- Conduct and coordinate housekeeping inspections and internal hazard assessments for corrections. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes.
- Develop and distribute educational material; conduct safety meetings using videos and training material.
- Processes workers compensation claims and reporting.
- Investigate accidents, near-misses and occupational injuries. Compile data, take photos, etc.; prepare all pertinent forms and required reports.
- Attend accident review meetings as needed.
- Conduct new hire Safety Orientation.
- Prepare, submit, file and maintain all essential safety paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of safety experience
- Knowledge of governmental and industry safety regulations
- Administrative experience
- Self-Starter
- Ability to work independently, strong communication skills with ability to influence behaviors
- Proficient computer skills with all basic office programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and the ability to learn and use related software and systems with training.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
