Position Purpose:
To promote a safe and healthy workplace; this position will work collaboratively with the Safety Manager to facilitate Health & Safety programs, in a manner consistent with Corporate and regulatory standards, with the goal of striving for zero injuries. In this capacity, you will support the health, safety, and wellness of all levels of employees through training, modeling, and supporting EHS programs, while continuously improving our EHS initiatives.
This role is pivotal in coordinating the company’s safety programs. In this capacity, you will make a difference by:
· Providing subject matter expertise for all safety topics.
· Act as a trainer in both formal and informal learning moments.
· Manage incidents, injuries, near misses; ensure incident investigations lead to the effective and timely implementation of corrective actions.
· Support, develop, and direct employee safety teams/initiatives such as JHA, Emergency Response, Facility Inspection, and Accident Investigation.
· Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and encourage employee participation at all levels.
· Produce written and/or visual communications for a variety of EHS communications (programs, signage, trainings, etc.), support department communication needs.
· Foster teamwork by working across departments as needed to share best practices and provide support where expertise is required.
· Maintain all required EHS documentation; ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
· Actively participate in professional learning and/or organizations and apply/share learning within the organization.
Additional opportunities may include:
· Mitigate hazards throughout the plant, define and facilitate appropriate controls.
· Manage occupational healthcare and workers compensation cases through to resolution.
· Participation in cross-functional kaizen events for projects and initiatives.
· Work cross-functionally to integrate safety in the launch of new products, acquisition of new equipment, and other operational changes; assist in program development and review.
· Performs tests and conducts measurements and audits related to process controls and exposures.

Requirements:What you can bring:

The ideal candidate will have relative experience, excellent communication and time management skills, and manufacturing aptitude. To be successful in this role, a qualified applicant should possess the following attributes.
· Minimum education of a high school diploma or its equivalent; associate degree or equivalent experience/certification in occupational safety and health field preferred.
· Minimum of two (2) years of relative experience required, preferably in a manufacturing setting; a combination of experience and education can be considered.
· Knowledge of Federal (OSHA), State, and local safety regulations.
· Ability to communicate effectively through a variety of medium, written and verbal, across all levels including identifying concerns, making recommendations, and conducting safety trainings.
· A passion for learning and sharing knowledge of occupational safety programs, process, and expectations.
· The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
· Effective time management & organizational skill.
· Strong computer skills including proficiency in current versions of MS Office is required, including PowerPoint and Excel; must be able to navigate custom databases and online document management software.
Travel up to 10% may be required.
