Job Description
SUMMARY
Work with outside entities (i.e. Fire Department, Cal-Osha, and regulatory agencies) in auditing, investigating, and resolving challenges associated with work environment, employee health and safety. The Safety Coordinator must be able to explain the respective role within the QMS and how their role contributes to quality (Ref. Quality Procedures). The Safety Coordinator shall contribute to product conformity as apart to their daily job function and shall contribute to product safety. The Safety Coordinator shall also be aware of ethical behavior and conduct themselves accordingly to Company policies and procedures (Ref. Employee Handbook).
RESPONSIBILITY & AUTHORITY
· Support ISO procedures and continuous improvement efforts.
· Enforce company safety standards.
· Perform company audits in support of regulatory agency requirements.
· Responsible for maintaining compliance agency regulations and standards (i.e. Fire Department, Cal-Osha, and regulatory agencies).
· Responsible for coordinating required corrective action as a result of internal and external audits.
· Maintain, review and report safety trends, issues, and concerns.
· Implement employee safety awareness programs.
· Conduct monthly employee awareness meetings.
· Conduct employee training as necessary in support of good work environment, employee health and safety.
· First Responder
· Any other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· Four (4) year degree or equivalent in work experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be detail orientated, extremely organized, posses excellent communication skill, and be able to interact with all levels of Management.
· Must have a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and how to work with outside agencies.
· Basic personal computer skills including working knowledge and experience with word, spread sheets and databases.
