Route Driver (Summer Position) At Tree-Ripe Fruit Co.

Tree-Ripe Fruit Co. is an Oconomowoc based produce company established in 1990 that depends on a seasonal workforce. Our primary time of operation is from mid-June through early August. We deliver Georgia peaches, Michigan blueberries, and Georgia pecans throughout the Midwest during the summer months. We have a large customer base (100K+) and have high volume sales (over 2M lbs in 2019).

We are looking for seasonal drivers interested in earning a premium salary for a limited amount of time. In the past, we've found great success with candidates who have other means of income during the remainder of the year, retired drivers who wish to remain in the workforce while not being full-time, and those who enjoy having longer periods of time off during the year.

Required skills: 

• Class A CDL with a minimum of 3 years driving experience.

• Clean MVR with no positive drug/alcohol tests.

• Must be extremely dependable and punctual.

• Must be able to lift 25-pound boxes, and work up to 12-14 hour days.

• Retail sales skills are beneficial, as is the ability to work as part of a sales team. No minimum education is required.

Job Responsibilities: A typical day on the job for this position entails picking up your load at our facility in Oconomowoc and delivering it to the first sales location of the day. Then at pre-designated times, customers are able to purchase on-site. Sales locations are normally 1-1/2 hours in length, and you would assist in providing the fruit to the customers (loading boxes from the truck to the point of sale, and loading in customer's cars). Once finished at the sales location, the point of sale is packed up, cargo secured, and you would deliver to the next sales location (usually 3 per day).

Once sales have concluded for the day, you would either return to Oconomowoc or stay overnight in preparation for the next sales day. We have sales going on 6 days per week, with Sundays off.

Summary: We have a staff of roughly 40 employees in the summer months, including warehouse workers, sales crews, and office workers. This position is primarily about finding a capable driver. However, there is room for growth in our company for the right individual. We work hard during our season, yet it is rewarding to have a wonderful and excited customer base that is really happy to see our return every year. Job Type: Part-time - Seasonal

Salary: $2,000.00 - $3,000.00 per week (negotiable depending on experience and if an owner operator)

Travel is required, additional compensation is given upon completion of season. Trucking routes are regional (Midwest).
