Leidos is looking for a Risk Manager to join a high performing Agile program using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. The program provides system engineering, development, test, integration, and operational support to a large, fast-paced program, and is infusing new technology and adding advanced capabilities while continuing to support an on-going mission and operational system. The selected candidate will be assigned to the Program Management Office and will be tasked with managing risks and opportunities in accordance with the Program Risk and Opportunity Management Plan. The selected candidate will support the Earned Value Management System for the program, and will perform engineering activities, including risk assessments and analyses of alternatives for a variety of system related issues and concerns.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supports Program Manager in apprising the customer of the current risk profile and the status of risks and mitigations.
- Develops and maintains the Risk and Opportunity Management Plan.
- Ensures that program personnel are trained to effectively participate in the risk management process.
- Plans and coordinates monthly Risk Management Board Meetings with contractor and customer stakeholders.
- Generates risk reports - including trends and metric analysis - for risk meetings and ad-hoc requests.
- Maintains and monitors data in the risk management tool.
- Manages categorization of risks such as priority, owner, and target due dates.
- Monitors the status of risk mitigation.
- Communicates status to Program Managers, risk originators, and risk owners.
- Initiates communication and escalation if mitigation action deadlines are not met.
- Executes the risk closure process.
- Integrates Risk Management with the established Earned Value Management approach to ensure cost and schedule implications of risks and issues are captured and integrated.
- Supports the Management EAC process to help quantify the cost impact of identified risks and opportunities.
- Ensures effective communication and collaboration with internal technical professionals on a day-to-day basis, and with POCs from customer organizations when necessary.
- Actively participates in Scrum of Scrums, Program Increment Planning, and other related Agile and Earned Value team activities.
Security Clearance Requirement:
- Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph to be considered for this role.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Engineering Management, Program Management, or a related field, and at least twelve (12) years of related experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Must have at least five (5) years of technical project management, system engineering, and/or risk management experience.
- Must have experience with and a solid understanding of quantitative risk analysis and risk management processes.
- Must have demonstrated experience in several of the following areas: risk analysis, Earned Value Management (EVM), project management, requirements analysis.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to facilitate productive collaboration between multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Must have a proven ability to proactivity identify, assess, monitor, and manage risk.
- Must have extensive experience analyzing and communicating technical options and trade-offs.
- Must have the ability to analyze and compile data and present effective reports.
- Must have strong analytical, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Must have the ability to quickly establish positive and productive working relationships across the program and program stakeholders.
- Must be data driven and detail oriented.
- Must have effective planning, prioritizing, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Must be comfortable working with large, complex, technical systems and components simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
- Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices.
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Must be capable of performing high quality work both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology or as a member of an Agile team.
- Demonstrated, direct, hands-on experience with Earned Value Management.

Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00
