We are currently in search of an experienced Risk Management Nurse/QA (RN) with an excellent track record
The Risk Manager/QA Nurse shall assist in and coordinate with the Clinical Lead to assist with Clinical Risk Management. The Risk Manager/QA Nurse is responsible for loss control and mitigation, and continual training and review to ensure resident safety is kept at the highest practicable level. Also be responsible for providing data metrics on clinical loss to management staff, and to work with the Director of Nursing on mitigation tactics and policy and procedure. You will assist the facility in development, implementation, and maintaining an effective comprehensive, data-driven Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program that focuses on systems of care, outcomes of care, and quality of life. The Risk Manager/QA Nurse will assist the facility to identify how the facility is performing, including where and why there is risk for or has failed to meet standards.
Candidate must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina with 3 years Long Term Care experience with specialized training in QAPI.

Successful candidates will have the following:
- Nursing Degree from an accredited college/university as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current, unencumbered license to practice in South Carolina (Required)
- At least 3 years Long Term Care experience, specialized training in QAPI.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high admissions healthcare facility is preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven understanding of South Carolina long-term care regulations, practices, procedures, terminology, staffing requirements and laws that govern the industry
- Outstanding communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to remain kind, professional and calm in all communication and work situations
Essential Duties:
- Plan, organize, and direct quality assurance programs and activities.
- Develop, implement and coordinate QA and assessment programs to enhance resident care.
- Attends any required facility specific meetings/committees which support the facility QAPI program.
- Monitors trends and prepares quality reports for the QAPI committee.
- Develops processes in conjunction with the QAPI Committee to assess systems of care including clinical care, quality of life, and resident choice.
- Identifies the need for education based on findings and trends.
- Elicits data from facility identified systems to monitor care and services with findings compared to benchmarks and targets the faculty has established for performance.
- Works collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary team (IDT) to provide education/training based on findings.
- Tracking, monitoring, and investigation of adverse events with identified action plan.
- Oversight of Facility Infection control program which includes process of identification, reporting, surveillance, and investigation of communicable diseases and infections.
- Participation in correction of State and Federal survey deficiency corrections as appropriate.
- Attend facility in-service training programs (i.e. HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Infection Control, etc.)
- Maintains the utmost level of confidentiality. Report suspected or known breaches.
- Ensure facilities are inputting clinical loss data appropriately.
- Run reports based on clinical loss data and provide loss control recommendation.
- Run on-site Clinical loss meetings with Admin, DON and licensed nurses as needed - Address acute needs when experiencing clinical loss and ensure proper documentation and storage of data.
