Position Summary
AIG General Insurance has an exciting opportunity for a Risk Management Distribution Leader for our Northern California Region. The responsibilities will involve management of key broker relationships in the territory. A successful candidate will have proven ability to align and influence internal and external stakeholders, is an effective communicator, has the ability to build commitment, and is tolerant of ambiguity. Key attributes for the role include leadership, creativity, collaboration, strong influential skills, presence, vision and broad property and casualty insurance knowledge.
Duties and Responsibilities
Broker Engagement:
- Build valuable relationships with key broker personnel across many functional areas, growing the corporate account universe year over year.
- Serve as a point of contact for key broker partners focused on corporate accounts in the Northern California Region.
- Formulate Strategic Business Plans with brokers for multiline accounts.
- Identify and maintain regular collaborative dialogue with key business influencers at brokerage operations.
- Drive the AIG value proposition and ensure that clients are aware of the array of products, services and solutions (enterprise-wide) available and enhance exposure to AIG.
Internal Management:
- Champion new and existing business initiatives working with Managing Directors, Broker Engagement and Underwriting Business Partners.
- Collaborate with Zonal leadership to ensure Customer Centric Focus is integrated into all sales and business planning.
- Develop and implement collaborative marketing strategies to achieve business production and performance goals for the Region.
- Manage account and product portfolio across Distribution and Product resources, owning the account targeting process end to end. Work with product teams to develop targets and improve submission ratios.
- Participate and hold production meetings with product lines to develop targets and also strengthen renewal relationships.
- Develop plans to improve portfolio and account performance, enhance service and strengthen relationships with corporate account brokers.
- Deliver results in new business production and cross selling from existing clients in line with set objectives.
- Meet or exceed client retention and premium retention goals for the Corporate Account Segment in the Region.
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance
- Proven broker relationship / management experience
- Ability to build relationships, internally and externally
- Ability to influence brokers, clients, peers, senior executives and staff
- Ability to manage key insurance relationships
- Must excel in multi-tasking and problem-solving under deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong financial and accounting skills to effectively engage at the senior management level
- Strong problem-solving abilities
