About the Role
The Restaurant Events Specialist is responsible for responding and assisting to phone inquiries from guests who are looking for large party dining reservations in all restaurants and Sports Book.
Position Responsibilities
- Reviews and confirms menus with guests
- Completes contracts and secures deposits
- Books reservations and reviews party details with Restaurant Manager and Restaurant Chef
- Handles a high volume of direct customer contact via telephone and in person (group dining leads from call center, hotel sales, web site, etc.)
- Assists with organized special events (wine dinners, holiday dinners; etc.)
- Completes follow up calls to ensure customer satisfaction
- Responsible for providing administrative support and general assistance for leadership for the Department and company as required
- Coordinates calendars and schedules meetings for management personnel; ensures the availability of all required meeting materials and equipment
- Prepares a variety of documentation including correspondence, agendas, meeting minutes, forms, flyers, memorandum, and reports; creates statistical spreadsheets and/or databases
- Performs data entry, compiles information, generates reports and tracks Departmental information including but not limited to variances, project expenses, employee schedules and attendance records
- Monitors office supplies, forms, and Departmental equipment; maintains supply inventories.
- Processes invoices, purchase orders, and expense reimbursements.
- Assists with coordination & execution of internal activations & special events in F&B Venues.
- When necessary, assists with reservations & arrangements for VIPs visiting Ocean Casino Resort. When necessary, assists with special projects & administrative functions in support of the F&B Division
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to second- hand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the casino/hotel areas.
- Repetitive finger and wrist motion (key board data entry) as well as prolonged viewing of data on a computer monitor.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
- Must be able to lift at least 25lbs.
What’s Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
- Ability to communicate with customers and team members in a clear and concise manner.
- Superior customer service skills with the ability to manage difficult customer situations and respond promptly to customer needs and requests.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
