2) Compliance: Work with and under the guidelines of NEOMED policy and occupational health and safety offices to monitor research areas and develop and implement policies, procedures and standards for laboratory operations to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness and quality control of the lab and compliance with federal, state and university regulations and standards. Develop new protocols, as needed.
3) Scholarship: Contribute to publications and grant applications.
4) Data and Records Management: Conduct comprehensive data analysis and provide detailed report to supervisor. Organize and keep records of collected data. Attend weekly group meetings and report scientific progress and updates. Contribute to problem resolution and results assessments.
5) Lab Management: Coordinate operational activities in the laboratory, provide team support and acts as primary contact with vendors in support of instrument maintenance, laboratory purchasing, personnel and operations.
6) Perform other duties as assigned
- Ph.D. in Physics, Biochemistry or Chemistry
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years research experience obtained as a postdoc fellow; six years preferred.
- Experience in:
- Proteomics research including protein isolation, digestion and analysis
- Protein-protein interaction, protein cross-linking and post-translation modification
- Label-free and stable isotope-based quantification methods
- Bioinformatics tools for identification and quantification of proteins
- Site-specific mutagenesis
- ELISA, Real-time PCR, Genotyping, Western blot
- GC, HPLC, Mass spectrometry method development
- Biological sample handling and processing
- Biochemistry and molecular biology
- Working knowledge in spectroscopy, bioinformatics, mass-spectrometry or biochemistry.
- Demonstrated success in publications.
- Builds and maintains open, transparent and effective lines of communication, within and outside the University, to better serve team members and customers; appropriately tailors written and verbal messages to target audiences.
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships, within individual work groups and across departments, through open communication and collaboration; works with others to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Provides high-quality customer service in all relationships with colleagues (inside and outside his/her department, students, NEOMED guests, and leaders; views all interactions as a potential customer service opportunity.
- Highly motivated, reliable with the exceptional attention to detail.
- Must be able to perform complex experiments from start to finish, evaluating results and presenting data.
