As Netflix expands into delivering a broader range of entertainment options and business models, the Identity DSE team is pioneering innovations aimed at building a holistic and personal view of who our consumers are. The team collaborates extensively with Product and Engineering teams to identify, nurture, and execute product innovations, leveraging robust measurement and engineering methodologies. We are looking for a Senior Research Engineer to support the vision, strategies, and development of new systems that provide intelligence about our consumers.
In this role, you will conduct applied research and drive improvements through conceptualization, designing, and implementation of engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have solid software engineering skills, and excel in collaborating across different functions and domains.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of engineering experience in building real-world machine learning models with demonstrated impact
- Proven expertise in machine learning spanning supervised and unsupervised learning methods
- Excellent software engineering skills in languages such as Scala and Java
- Experience with Spark, TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and large web-scale distributed systems
- Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders and adept at cultivating strong partnerships
- Excellent communication, able to convey technical content to non-technical audiences, and collaborating across functions and domains to ensure real business impact
- Comfortable with ambiguity, demonstrated capability to thrive with minimal oversight and navigate complex processes
Preferred, but not required, additional areas of experience:
- Research publications at peer-reviewed journals and conferences on relevant topics
- Experience as a technical leader
- Open source contributions
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $170,000 - $720,000.
