- Supervise the daily work of Engineers
- Work with engineering and customer support closely on issues and escalations
- Proactive in handling issues for priority incidents and ensuring resolution in timely manners
- Provide idea for the development of automated tools which enhances the capability of the engineers update and maintain training materials.
- Evaluate or develop new tools to better manage the Service Infrastructure
- Provide second level escalations support
- Support all Service Infrastructure systems and services
- Should ensure that customer needs are properly defined and satisfactorily met
- Identify and verify service impact to customers
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-7 years of network administration, WAN administration, and/or LAN administration
- Minimum of 3-7 years troubleshooting experience within a cable provider network environment/operations
- BA and/or BS with any technology concentration, or equivalent experience
- Industry recognized certifications such as Network +, CCNA, CCNP and/or CCDA
- Experience with routing, switching, and/or optical protocols/circuit types (ie: ospf, bgp, stp, MPLS, Multicast)
- Experience and/or general knowledge of voice environments and/or traffic flow (ie: adtran's, pbx's, etc)
- Fundamental understanding of the OSI model
- Experience with network and channel monitoring tools (ex: Intermapper, Solarwinds, iVMS, xVu, Netbrain, Netflow)
- Experience with Cisco, Motorola, ZTE, and/or Alcatel equipment
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Experience with high availability environment with 99.99% SLA
- Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibits mature organization and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with routing protocols, specifically OSPF and BGP
- Experience with Optical Platforms, configuration and/or troubleshooting
- Experience working within a cable provider environment
- Experience working with third party circuit providers
- Industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, and/or CCDP
- Vendor certifications on any Optical platform (ie: Motorola, ZTE, Alcatel etc)
- Experience working with Python, SQL, PHP, Shell
