Classification/Working Title: Research Data Specialist I (Data Forecasting Specialist)

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by independently performing quantitative and qualitative data-driven research and statistical analysis, development, and monitoring of the Center for Health Care Quality (CHCQ) November and May Revision Estimate, as well as the Annual Fee Report. The Research Data Specialist I (RDS I) serves as a subject matter expert for the workload estimate and revenue assessment for future fiscal years. The incumbent is responsible for querying, mining and manipulation, data quality determination, statistical analysis, development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of CHCQ’s sensitive and complex workload, fee structure and database while working closely with Executive Management. The incumbent is a data analytics consultant who has a full understanding of appropriate methodologies and processes available to CHCQ for the overall administration, oversight and monitoring of the Program’s respective budget, workload, and revenue assessment. The incumbent must adhere to the strict deadlines for publication of the November and May Revision and the Annual Fee Report, as mandated in statute.

Teleworking may be available for this position, in accordance with CDPH’s Telework Policy and Procedures.
