Purpose of the Position
Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and Information Technology and led by the Data Management Specialist the Data Processing Specialist - is responsible for front end management and user support of the college enterprise student information systems. This position will ensure that college programs, courses and offering are set up correctly in alignment with the business goals. Work assignments will be of a more complex level requiring standard clerical procedures and practices with a higher degree of data entry in GC databases and SDSU SIMRS, Peoplesoft, Apex knowledge and responsibility, as well as knowledge of student records and transcripts.

The Data Processing Specialist is a technical support role that is an integral part of the continued stability and growth of GC by delivering accurate time sensitive data input for the college. The Data Processing Specialist is part of a supportive, service-oriented team that promotes quality customer experiences. This position will also engage in real-time troubleshooting with customers to resolve technical issues utilizing various customer support applications and tools available through the college. The person in this position will dedicate a high percentage of their time to data entry and data hygiene.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities (95%)
- Global Campus SIS (Higher Reach) subject matter expert.
- Course setup into Global Campus database (Higher Reach) for Spring, Summer and Fall terms.
- Monitor receipt of documents related to course set up and room requests. Maintain confidential files related to course set up.
- Make any necessary corrections and updates to course and program data entry as needed in the Global Campus database (Higher Reach).
- Coordinate the office workflow, priorities and deadlines.
- Work closely with Global Campus programming and marketing departments for coordination of course set up and website/digital catalog/brochure deadlines.
- Coordinate resolution of GC data entry questions, policies, procedures and methods.
- Work closely with Global Campus registration and enrollment services staff to identify and correct section set up errors and inconsistencies that could affect student records and transcripts.
- Prepare Global Campus term course schedule reports and analyses, as needed.
- Provide Monthly trainings for staff on Reporting tools and HiR system functionalities.
- Work closely with GC Data Management Specialist to enter and update GC courses in SDSU database (SIMSR/Peoplesoft) for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter terms.
- Draft correspondence as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related field or similar certified coursework in applicable field of study.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Jenzabar Higher Reach system, SDSU Qualtrics application.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure most effective and timely delivery of service to clients.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Advance working knowledge of Excel.
- Proficient PC skills with knowledge of various software applications used for troubleshooting, call resolution and logging.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
