Research Assistant

This posting is for a Research Assistant in the Stress & Health Research Program at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. We are looking to hire a Research Assistant for a study involving Veterans with PTSD. The project is a randomized controlled trial of a behavioral therapy for insomnia in Veterans with PTSD. The Research Assistant will be involved in participant recruitment via phone & email, screening, scheduling video or phone appointments, processing study reimbursements, administering online questionnaires, data entry/cleaning, annual IRB and grant reports, and assistance with manuscript preparation. There are opportunities to be included as an author on publications related to the project. This is a hybrid position that will involve occasional on-site work at the San Francisco VA, but most work will be conducted remotely.

Applicant Requirements:

• BA/BS degree in Psychology, other social science, or related field; will consider individuals close to graduation
• Minimum of 2 years research experience in social sciences
• Experience/knowledge of IRB submission procedures
• Previous experience with Microsoft databases (Access/ Excel), Windows operating systems, and Qualtrics
• Meticulousness and the ability to work independently but also function as part of a team
• Knowledge of clinical research methods
• Strong organization, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
• Experience working/interacting with Veterans is preferred
