Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Program Director and the Clinical Supervisor, the Rehabilitation Specialist assists the teaching and school-based mental health staff in maintaining a therapeutic education environment, including implementing curriculum and behavior management.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Rehabilitation Specialist I:
• Completion of college courses in behavioral or social service area; coursework in addiction, psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field.
• Previous work experience in providing case management services is highly desirable.
• Additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted.
Rehabilitation Specialist II:
• Hold an Associates Degree with two years of experience in a related field - or
• Hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in an approved, related field of study - or
• Has completed at least six years of experience providing mental health services in a School
linked/based organization, Non-Profit, Community mental health, or Clinic/Health Center
setting - or
• Has completed as least six years of experience as a Rehabilitation Specialist I with the Lake
County Office of Education.
• Previous work experience in providing case management services is highly desirable.

Comments and Other Information
The Lake County Office of Education offers the following benefits to regular classified employees:
• Health and Welfare - annual benefit cap of $17,500 for full-time employees, and part-time employees, 6+ hours per day at a prorated rate. Includes medical, prescription, dental, and vision for employees and all eligible dependents, based on the Tier coverage selected by the employee. Employee's out-of-pocket contribution amount will vary based on the selection; employees may purchase coverage through a 125-cafeteria plan.
