The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist teaches, models, and encourages the use of positive behavioral supports and specific behavioral interventions to assist children with high acuity needs to reduce functional impairment. A Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist provides interventions in homes, communities, or other locations depending on client needs.
- AA Degree in psychology, social work, child development, or related field plus 3 years experience providing behavioral intervention to children and adolescents with emotional disturbances or intensive needs. B.A. or B.S. degree in psychology, social work, child development, or related field plus 1 year of experience working with children and adolescents with emotional disturbances.
- Ability to foster positive therapeutic relationships with clients, families, and other community program staff to ensure a collaborative approach is used at all times.
- Experience with skill-building and rehabilitative work.
- Community resource awareness
- Possess a valid California Driver’s License with a clear driving record for the past three (3) years.
