Near North Health, a longstanding pillar of Chicago's healthcare landscape, is seeking a visionary and compassionate Registration Clerk to join our dedicated team. Since our inception in 1966, we have remained committed to our mission of providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality primary healthcare services to all, regardless of their financial circumstances.
As Registration Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to serve primarily low-income uninsured or underinsured residents of Chicago's medically underserved communities. Your excellent customer service skills and experience will further solidify our position as one of the largest providers of community-based primary care in the city.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Satisfaction: Greet and interact with all patients, staff and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner.
Data Collection: At first visit, input all pertinent patient information in the system, including conducting an insurance verification. Notifying un-insured patients of alternative funding to cover medical services. And, updating required information at subsequent visits.
- Good interpersonal skills are a necessity, including an ability to work well with the variety of ages, cultures, and temperaments represented among Near North Health Service Corporation staff and patients, treating others with kindness and professionalism in all they do.
- Some computer skills required (Windows based, experience with Microsoft Office a plus).
- Knowledge of insurance a plus.
- An ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities in accordance with the needs and mission of the corporation, multi-task, and problem solve in a fast-paced work environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing or stressful conditions, including unanticipated changes to working schedules or locations.
- Adequate written and verbal communication skills for communicating coherently and professionally with patients and co-workers.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
