Join our team! Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Emergency Room is now hiring a full-time Registrar Trauma to work in LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The department is a secure, 38 bed Emergency room in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. We have Level III Trauma designation. Everyone in the units report directly to the Director of ER. Essential Functions/Daily Job Duties:
- Review and registrar all Trauma cases to the State Registry.
- Serves as a liaison for EMS agencies by providing follow-up information on care provided and works with EMS to improve care and establish protocols.
- Attends local RAC and Hospital Preparedness meetings to assure up-to-date knowledge or requirements are obtained and met. Registrar is responsible to report back pertinent data to the organization from all local meetings.
- Assures the organization remains survey-ready for Trauma Designation and re-designation surveys.
- Collaborates with administration, finance, and business office to ensure the appropriate data is collected and submitted for trauma-related funding opportunities.
- Facilitates and/or provides Injury prevention and trauma related education opportunities for healthcare personnel and community members within the organization and in surrounding areas.
Applicants Job Requirements Include:
- Required: One (1) year of Emergency Healthcare related clerical experience and/or data entry.
- Required: Advanced medical terminology knowledge as evidenced by education or work experience.
- Required: Experience working with an electronic medical record, EPIC preferred.
- Required: Certification in AIS coding or willingness to obtain this within 1 year of employment.
- Preferred: One (1) or more years of direct experience as a Trauma Registrar.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
