Seeking a qualified Circulating & Perioperative Operating Room RN for a multi-specialty, Medicare Certified, surgery center focusing on cosmetic and reconstructive Plastic Surgery.
Position Summary: Seeking personable, competent and hard working Registered Nurse with prior Operating Room exposure. RN will interface with staff and physicians to perform a variety of tasks in the preoperative, surgical and postoperative areas of our surgery center.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-operative assessments on all incoming patients prior to their surgical procedure.
- Responsible for starting and monitoring IVs, administering pre-operative medications and performing pre-operative instruction and explanation of patient's rights and procedures
- Develop and maintain an individualized perioperative patient plan of care.
- Provide education regarding the expected psychosocial response, nutritional management, medication management, pain management, wound management, and expected responses to the operative or invasive procedure to the patient
- Actively involving the patient or designated support person in decisions affecting his or her perioperative plan of care and rehabilitation process
- Performing interventions to maintain the status of the patient’s genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems and fluids at or above baseline levels.
- Ensure that the Operating Room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment.
- Circulate OR during complex surgical cases.
- Document nursing care and activities accurately and completely.
- Participates in quality reviews and performance improvements
- Offer support to patients who are waking up from anesthesia post surgery through discharge. Check vital signs, clean wounds, monitor progress, and administer pain medication. Develop patient care plans with the surgeon, attending physician, and anesthesiologist.
- This position is primarily for our Waukesha surgery center however may need to float to our Glendale location also.

Pay: From $34.50 per hour
