Position Summary:
SAAK Health, ASC is looking for an Operating Room Nurse to join our surgical team and assist surgeons during operations and other medical procedures. The OR Nurse delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Wisconsin. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Serves as the patient’s advocate by safeguarding his/her human dignity and rights from pre-op assessment to post-anesthesia care. Providing one-to-one individualized nursing care of high intensity in a short period of time to a patient in crisis.

Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin: Required
- Associate degree in nursing: Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing: Preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR): Required
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required (within 90 days of hire)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse: Required
- Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience working in an OBL or ASC setting
- Prior experience in the Operating Room and/or Cath Lab: Required
- Persistent to detail, thorough, and exact
- In good physical and mental health
- Proficient in medication administration, airway management, and patient assessment
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Specific Duties:
- Maintain orderly, efficient, and timely flow of patients
- Provide instruction to patients and family regarding medications and treatment
- Perform pre- and post-op assessments
- Perform peri-operative responsibilities, circulating, and support anesthesia
- Administer medications, perform airway management, and monitor patient as needed
- Participate in admission and discharge of patients
- Coordinate and monitor patient care activities to ensure quality and timely delivery of services
- Adhere to sterile and aseptic techniques during procedures
- Develop and implement discharge plans in collaboration with other team members
- Assess patient/family level of understanding to enhance effective communication and education
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients as necessary
- Screen patients for appropriate clinical information, accurately document vitals, condition, medications, and other relevant medical information using EMR system
- Assist healthcare providers with various medical procedures
- Prepare patients for and recover patients following surgical procedures, as needed
- Circulate during OR and procedural room cases
- Assess patients for potential complications during peri-procedure and post-procedure times
- Administer and chart critical care medications
- Scrubs in to assist physician(s) during procedures/surgeries
- Provide report to prep and recovery RN
- Provide post-procedure instructions to patient, family, and/or caregiver prior to discharge
- Provide compassionate, professional patient care and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Provide continuity of care while communicating with all team members

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
