Primarily 1000-1830, with occasional day shift rotation. No weekends or holidays.
Job Summary:
Performs delegated activities supporting the OR team in the care of surgical patients. Under the supervision of the OR Charge Nurse & Service Coordinators, completes patient transport, room turn over and set up, specimen delivery, maintains sub-sterile core supply stock. and other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of 1 year of recent work experience in a hospital is required. A minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience or similar experience to patient identification and authentication is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing care, resolving patient care problems and dealing with patients and families. Ability to use general medical support equipment, including patient lifting devices; understand and follow instructions, as well as give clear directions to patients and others in need of assistance and guidance; good listening skills. Ability to use standard office equipment including computers, fax, copy, document scanners, and tube stations. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is preferred.
