As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing quality dental care to patients and assisting the dentist in various procedures. Your main duties will include:
- Conducting oral screenings and assessments
- Cleaning and polishing patients' teeth
- Removing plaque and calculus
- Applying fluoride treatments
- Taking dental x-rays and developing them
- Educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Assisting the dentist during procedures
- Documenting patient information and treatment plans

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in medical documentation and record keeping
- Knowledge of dental office procedures and protocols
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and oral health principles
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record patient information
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Experience with medical imaging software for capturing dental x-rays (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Familiarity with medical coding for insurance billing purposes
