Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and debridement
- Take x-rays
- Conduct patient assessments, including oral health screenings and medical history reviews
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic dental software (Mac Practice)
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive dental care
Requirements:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices
- Proficiency in using dental software (Mac Practice) for record keeping and scheduling
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and explain procedures to patients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate charting and documentation
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and interpretation of results
