Regional Sales Manager Job Objective
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for Business Development as well as Account Management in the assigned JLS Sales Region. Activities include prospecting, lead qualification, face-to-face sales calls, opportunity management, and various reporting requirements. Identified as the face and voice of JLS with our customers and prospects, it is critical that the RSM represents the values and ethics of JLS through professional behavior. JLS places a high value on teamwork and looks to the RSM to work with the JLS team to ensure success in the region. This is a Full Time, Exempt position reporting to the Director of Sales, JLS North.
- Develops quarterly and annual territory forecasts and sales plans using JLS reporting systems with a focus on the use of SalesForce.com.
- Provides timely and accurate expense reports utilizing JLS assets as his/her own.
- Focus on defined core markets and applications.
- Monitors activities via call reports and activity reports.
- Expected to bring new and unusual opportunities to the attention of JLS management.
- Expected to travel extensively.
- Participates in trade shows, conferences, training seminars, and JLS partner gatherings.
- Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of Packaging Equipment.
- Continually observe operational metrics and process developments within JLS key markets to identify present and future business needs of our target customer base.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 4-year college degree or equivalent majoring in Engineering and/or Business.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience selling capital equipment in the food industry.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with a diversity of problems.
- Required to control costs, adhere to a schedule, and improve the quality of product/service.
